Before GoodTime, the team was really struggling with small errors. It could be something as small as adding the wrong link to an invite. But each mistake would take time to fix and created an overall poor candidate experience.

about pinterest

Pinterest was created in 2010 by three entrepreneurs who wanted one thing — to create an online tool that would help people collect the things they were passionate about.

Pinterest was born to spark ideas, creativity, and imagination. The visual search engine helps people imagine new possibilities, share ideas, and organize everything they love on an online pinboard. From its inception, Pinterest has transformed into a place where people go to inspire and be inspired.

Building Blocks to Hiring Top Talent

Amazing Candidate Experience

Top talent candidates have many options and expect a seamless, captivating experience every step of the way.

Data-Driven Recruiting

Great data allows for continuously learning from and improving the recruiting process, time to hire, hiring costs, and making better hiring decisions.

Hiring Quality at Scale

Automating and scaling the scheduling process allows Pinterest to reach out to more candidates in the pipeline and make better hiring decisions.

The Challenge: A slow, error-filled recruitment process

Prior to implementing GoodTime, Pinterest’s recruitment team used another platform that facilitated a slow, arduous scheduling process and let too many important scheduling details slip through the cracks. Every part of the process — from finding calendar availability to copying and pasting email templates — took a considerable amount of time.

This meant that candidates were waiting much longer than necessary to hear if they’d gotten the job they wanted — and many decided not to stick around to find out. With Pinterest’s team growing quickly, they knew they needed a better solution that would reduce human error and seamlessly get candidates in the door — and fast.

When Pinterest analyzed their recruitment processes, they realized it took them 30 to 40 clicks just to get an invitation out to one candidate.

Victoria Perez, Recruiting Coordinator at Pinterest, describes her job before implementing GoodTime as chaotic.

“Before GoodTime, the team was really struggling with small errors,” Victoria says. “It could be something as small as adding the wrong link to an invite. But each mistake would take time to fix and created an overall poor candidate experience.”

For each candidate interview, individual calendars were being constantly adjusted, and links and email templates were manually copied and pasted — every single time. When Pinterest analyzed their recruitment processes, they realized it took them 30 to 40 clicks just to get an invitation out to one candidate.

Recognizing that the current recruitment process was taking too much time, and causing too much friction for recruiters and candidates alike, Victoria set out to find a better solution that would make hiring easy.

The Solution

With GoodTime, Pinterest’s interview scheduling process went from almost 40 clicks down to just 10 — a big improvement that sped up everything else. And it’s paying off. Pinterest is currently meeting hiring demands faster than ever before — something that could not be achieved without GoodTime.

“It’s exciting,” Victoria says. “GoodTime makes my life so much easier in terms of speeding up the process and scheduling people fast.”

According to the Recruiting Coordination Team at Pinterest, after rolling out GoodTime's solution all of the initial problems they were facing were completely eliminated.

“GoodTime is a highly intuitive tool that has all the resources you need to work for you,” Victoria says. “To anyone who's considering GoodTime, just do it. It speaks for itself, and you won’t regret it.”

Valuable Insights

Faster Scheduling

Pinterest uses its Slack channel to announce when a recruiter has closed a role — a good place to gauge how long it takes to fill roles. In the past, roles were filled in 4-6 weeks. But with GoodTime, they’ve cut their time in half with a 2-3 week time-to-fill — a huge leap in hiring speed.

“It has expedited the process for us,” Victoria explains. “Now we schedule interviews faster, candidates are pushed through the process quickly, and recruiters are closing roles at record speed.”

With GoodTime, candidates can schedule interviews and automatically receive email invites and updates — without the recruitment team even getting involved.

An Even Better Candidate Experience

For Pinterest, an excellent candidate experience is something that has always been prioritized. But with GoodTime’s hiring platform, they were able to enhance that experience even more. And candidates are noticing — many of them commenting on the fast turnaround.

“The platform does what it’s supposed to do, and it makes our candidate experience even better. We would be missing out on improving that candidate experience and getting the right people hired quickly if we weren’t using GoodTime,” Victoria states.

With GoodTime’s mobile-friendly scheduling ability, candidates can quickly select interview times that work best for them, no matter where they are. Then, they receive automatic confirmations and reminders about their upcoming interview so they can start preparing immediately.

“It allows us to move faster, and candidates feel like we’re just as eager to move them through the process as they are,” Victoria remarks.

Data-Driven Insights

With GoodTime’s Analytics and Insights, Victoria’s team has been able to identify gaps and opportunities in their hiring process that they didn’t even know existed.

“We look at our data to analyze why certain interviewers may be rescheduling a lot or why certain candidates may be dropping out at specific stages in the process,” Victoria says. “We’re always looking for ways to improve the overall candidate experience.

GoodTime’s real-time dashboard makes continuous improvement easy by providing visibility into the entire recruiting process, and helping hiring teams make better decisions so they can hire the right talent as quickly as possible.

It has expedited the process for us. Now we schedule interviews faster, candidates are pushed through the process quickly, and recruiters are closing roles at record speed.
